On Thursday, May 18, the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre located in Kronenberg, in the Netherlands, the Nations Cup qualifying competition for the Longines EEF Series 2023 got underway. Six countries competed in the event and five of them qualified.
For the first position there was a tie-breaker between Argentina and France that managed to finish with zero points and no knockdown of its members in both rounds. Finally, the French team was the winner, followed by Argentina. Spain got the third place.
These three countries have earned a direct pass to the semi-final of the Longines EEF Series to be held from June 22 to 25 in Deauville (France). The final will be in mid-September in Warsaw (Poland).
From Thursday, the 25th, two other competitions of the League of Nations will be held. The traditional CSIO5* of Rome and the CSIO3* Aalborg, which is the first of the two competitions of the Northern zone in the EEF Series circuit.
As for the CSIO5* Rome, ten teams will be in the Rome Nations Cup, eight of them have already won there.
Italy, the host team, along with the last winner of the Nations Cup (France) will face other countries such as Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland and one of the favorites, Sweden, led by the number one in the FEI ranking, Henrik von Eckermann. In addition to these already champions in Rome, there are two other countries that do not know what it means to win on this track, Brazil and Ireland.
On the other hand, the first Northern Zone competition will be held simultaneously in Aalborg, Denmark. It will be the fourth contest of 2023 in the EEF Series circuit. Eleven teams are participating, of which Denmark, Norway, Finland, Poland, Lithuania and Sweden will be looking for the first points of the North zone, which will have its second and last contest at the beginning of June in Drammen.
The top five of this group (North Zone) will compete in the Deauville Semi-Finals with the top five of the West Zone, who qualified for the last competition in Peelbergen.
