The unstoppable horse and rider combination became the undisputed winners of the sixth and last qualifying leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup 2021/2022 at s’-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.
The pair achieved another outstanding horse riding performance of 90.555 when they were last to go. Their harmony is more obvious every day, and last week the World No.1 announced she is expecting her second baby in August.

The atmosphere at s'-Hertogenbosch this past weekend had nothing to do with previous rounds of the series which were restricted due to the pandemic.
During the first half, British veteran Richard Davison found himself at the lead with Bubblingh. The gelding sometimes gets nervous at competitions, but this time the pair held a lovely performance for a score of 77.205, good enough for fifth place at the end of the day.
Sweden’s Patrik Kittel was the first to break the 80% barrier when going fourth-last to go with dressage horse Forever Young HRH. The mare was attentive and gave him “the best feeling” although Kittel did not have his hopes up. 82.500 went on the board and it was his mark to beat, but Isabell Werth and DSP Quantaz posted 84.870 to dethrone the duo.
The German dressage rider is chasing her fourth consecutive FEI Dressage World Cup title, sixth in total after the first was recorded 30 years ago in Gothenburg, Sweden. So far, Werth is happy with the progress of the stallion, and Great Britain’s Charlotte Fry and Dark Legend could not beat her when awarded 82.325.
However, von Bredow Werndl and Dalera were still to perform. They performed what could be referred to as a masterclass in communication, and the Olympic and European dressage champion moved up in the podium, securing their spot at the FEI Dressage World Cup 2022 next month.
“I decided a few years ago I don’t care too much about the score because I can’t influence it - the only thing I can influence is my riding and my performance and today Dalera was just incredible!”
According to Bredow-Werndl, she believes this was the best Freestyle she has ridden with Dalera, as it felt effortless and smooth and there were no moments when she doubted their performance.
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl has secured his spot at the FEI Dressage World Cup 2022 Final. This is no easy task, as there are only three places on offer and defending champion Werth is automatically entitled to one of them. This means the other talented German riders had to fight for their spot.
Von Bredow Werndl is on the top of the Western European League, meaning she has secured the second spot. Fight was between Fredric Wandres who was third in the rankings and Helen Langehanenberg. However, after winning, Langehanenberg is now standing with 53 points, one point ahead of Wandres.
Next month we will see the best in dressage competition as riders fight for the World Cup Final in Leipzig. Who will become the next world champion at the Grand Prix?
