The World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen 2021 will be opening its doors from September 10th-19th. The event was originally planned for the end of June; however, the organisers have decided to move the date back to September.
“Everyone is extremely looking forward to the CHIO Aachen 2021, whereby health and safety are of course priority number one” comments Frank Kemperman, Chairman of the Managing Board of the Aachen-Laurensbergen Rennverei. The date has also been approved by the FEI, meaning it is officially confirmed.
For those who don’t know about the CHIO Aachen it is an international top show with all five disciplines and always brings the best horses and riders worldwide. Together with the CHI Genève, CSIO Spruce Meadows Masters and the Dutch Masters, the CHIO Aachen is one of the four top events of the Rolex Grand Slam. It is also considered the most prestigious horse show in Europe when it comes to jumping and dressage.
Now, the organisers will determine the spectator capacity for the horse festival, and are hopeful that further information regarding attendance of spectators will be able by mid-June. However, if events cannot hold an audience, the organization for the CHIO Aachen offers reimbursement or transferral of tickets to the 2022 edition to the public.
We are excited for this event to take place as now several events are being cancelled due to the new EHV-1 horse epidemic.
